DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Bed N Beds respects the intellectual property rights of photographers, writers, hosts and other creators, and we expect everyone who uses our platform to do the same. This policy explains how to tell us about content you believe infringes your copyright, how a user can respond if their content is removed, and how we deal with repeat infringement. It follows the notice-and-takedown process of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. §512, and we apply the same process to copyright complaints from anywhere in the world.

1. Our Respect for Intellectual Property

Content on Bed N Beds comes from several sources: our own team, hosts who upload listing descriptions and photos, users who submit reviews, and licensed third-party material, including images from Wikimedia Commons used under Creative Commons licences and credited on our Image Credits page. Our Terms & Conditions require users to upload only content they own or have permission to use.

If you believe that any content on our website infringes your copyright, please let us know. In many cases, such as a missing or incorrect attribution, a short email is enough for us to fix the problem quickly. For formal takedown requests, please follow the steps below.

2. How to Submit a Takedown Notice

Send your notice by email to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. You can also post it to Bed N Beds, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but email is much faster. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), your notice must be in writing and must include all of the following:

  1. Signature: a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or of a person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed. A typed full name at the end of an email is acceptable as an electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work: identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed or, if multiple works on our website are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works. A link to the original work, or a description of it, helps us greatly.
  3. Identification of the infringing material: identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, together with information reasonably sufficient to allow us to locate it, such as the exact page URL and a description of the image or text concerned.
  4. Your contact information: information reasonably sufficient to allow us to contact you, such as your full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. Good faith statement: a statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. Accuracy and authority statement: a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Notices that do not substantially include these elements may not be valid, and we may ask you to provide the missing information before we take action.

Response time: we aim to respond within 5 business days of receiving a complete notice. Where we find the notice valid, we will remove or disable access to the material and inform the user who posted it, where we can identify them.

3. What Happens After We Receive a Notice

When we receive a complete and valid notice, we will:

  • acknowledge receipt and review the notice;
  • remove or disable access to the material identified, where appropriate;
  • take reasonable steps to notify the user who uploaded the material, such as a host or reviewer, and provide them with a copy of the notice, which may include your name and contact details; and
  • keep a record of the notice in line with our repeat infringer policy.

Where the material was published by Bed N Beds itself, for example an image on a blog article or service page, we will review it and either remove it, replace it, correct the attribution or explain why we believe our use is licensed or otherwise permitted.

4. Counter-Notices

If material you posted has been removed or disabled following a takedown notice and you believe this happened because of a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice”. Under 17 U.S.C. §512(g)(3), your counter-notice must be in writing and include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled, such as the page URL;
  3. a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled;
  4. your name, address and telephone number; and
  5. a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Bed N Beds may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or an agent of that person.

When we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward a copy to the person who submitted the original notice and inform them that we will restore the removed material or stop disabling access to it in not less than 10, nor more than 14, business days following receipt of the counter-notice, unless we first receive notice that they have filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the user from engaging in infringing activity relating to the material.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances, Bed N Beds will disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We consider all relevant circumstances, including the number of valid notices received, whether counter-notices were submitted and upheld, and whether infringement appears deliberate. We may also remove listings, reviews or other content associated with a repeat infringer, and we may decline future registrations from the same person.

6. Misrepresentation Warning

Please make sure your notice or counter-notice is accurate before you send it. Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing, or that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, by the copyright owner or its licensee, or by the service provider. Before submitting a notice, please consider whether the use could be licensed or permitted, for example under a Creative Commons licence or as fair use. If you are unsure whether material infringes your rights, you may wish to seek legal advice first.

7. Other Intellectual Property Concerns

This process is designed for copyright complaints. If you have a concern about trademarks, a listing that impersonates your business or property, or misuse of your personal images, please contact us at [email protected] with as much detail as possible, and we will review it under our Terms & Conditions. If your concern involves a suspected fraudulent listing, please also see our Trust & Safety page.

8. Personal Data in Notices

We use the information in notices and counter-notices to process your request, to communicate with the parties involved and to keep records as described above. As explained, we may share notices with the affected user, and counter-notices with the original complainant. We handle this information in line with our Privacy Policy.
