Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Bed N Beds wants everyone to be able to find, compare and book a great place to stay, whatever their abilities and whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement explains the standard we aim for, what we have done so far, where we know there are still gaps and how you can tell us about a problem.

1. Our Commitment

Accessibility is part of how we design, build and write content for bednbeds.com. We treat it as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-off project: every new page, feature and article should be usable with a keyboard, readable by screen readers and comfortable to use for people with low vision, colour blindness, motion sensitivity or cognitive disabilities. When we find barriers, we prioritise fixing them.

2. Our Accessibility Target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities. We consider our website to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA, which means that most content meets the standard but some parts do not yet fully conform. We describe the known exceptions in Section 4.

3. Measures We Take

To support accessibility, we have built the following into our website:

  • Keyboard navigation: menus, search filters, listing cards, forms, the booking request form and the cookie banner can be reached and operated with a keyboard. A visible focus indicator shows where you are on the page, and a “skip to content” link lets you bypass repeated navigation.
  • Colour contrast: we choose text and background colours to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, and we do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning, such as availability or form errors.
  • Text alternatives: meaningful images, including listing photos and destination images, have descriptive alternative text. Purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Reduced motion respected: if you have enabled the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system or browser, we minimise animations, transitions and auto-scrolling effects.
  • Structure and semantics: pages use a logical heading order, landmarks, lists and tables with headers so that assistive technologies can describe them accurately.
  • Forms: contact and booking forms have visible labels, clear instructions and error messages that explain how to fix a problem.
  • Responsive and zoomable design: the website adapts to different screen sizes and can be zoomed up to 200% without loss of content or functionality, and text reflows on small screens.
  • Plain language: we try to write clearly, explain terms and avoid unnecessary jargon, including in our policies.
  • Language: the page language is declared so that screen readers use the correct pronunciation.

4. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following:

  • Third-party content: some features rely on third-party tools, such as payment gateways at checkout and our cookie consent banner. We choose providers that take accessibility seriously, but we do not fully control their interfaces.
  • Maps: the optional OpenStreetMap map on listing pages, loaded when you click “Show map”, is a visual tool that is difficult to use with a screen reader or keyboard. The listing text always describes the neighbourhood and approximate location, so you do not need the map to book. Ask us if you need more detail about a location.
  • Host-provided content: listing photos and descriptions are supplied by hosts. Some may lack detailed alternative text or full information about accessibility features. We are working with hosts to improve this.
  • Older content: some older pages or images may not yet meet every requirement. We review and update them over time.
  • Physical accessibility of homes: this statement covers our website. Whether a particular home is suitable for wheelchair users or guests with other access needs depends on the property. Please check the listing and contact us or the host before booking if you need specific features, such as step-free access, grab rails or a walk-in shower.

5. Compatibility

Our website is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. It may not work as well on older browsers.

6. Feedback and Contact

We welcome your feedback. If you experience any difficulty using our website, find content you cannot access, or need information in a different format, please tell us. Let us know the page address, what you were trying to do and, if you are comfortable sharing it, the browser and assistive technology you were using. We will try to provide the information or service you need by another route, such as email or phone, while we work on a fix.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 2 business days and to propose a solution or next steps within 10 business days.

7. Ongoing Improvement

We test our website using a combination of automated tools, keyboard-only checks and manual reviews, and we review this statement regularly. As we add features and content, we will continue to work towards full conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA. This statement was last reviewed on October 19, 2026.
